I'm not so bad after all...I'm not so bad after all
I have never done anything like it before. Last time I did it; I was so intoxicated so I won't even count that experience.
Well this time, it was on my own accord. I wanted it. But now I don't know if it was all worth it.
Now I know how a certain friend feels now.
Now I know that I'm not so bad after all.
Now I walk with a big question mark on my face.
So what happens next?
I don't know. I wouldn't even dare find out. I'm not even sure if the concerned person also feels the same way. I'm not even sure if I want that concerned person to feel the same way.
I would have to eat my hat for all that I've said before; that it was nothing. It was definitely something now that I was given time to ponder.

Weekend Affair
If you ask me what I feel now, I'll only give you a blank stare. After that, it'll vary from a timid smile to a lame attempt to change/avoid the subject.
*blushes
I really don't know what happened. Sometimes I smile stupidly like I have a naughty secret I'm not telling anyone..other times I feel nothing; absolutely nothing that you'll wonder why I'm suddenly like that.
I really don't know. It just happened, I guess. I don't want it to have any explanation or have someone study it under a microscope because I have a strong feeling I don't really want to know what happened. It would be best if the subject would just die down.
Stupid.Impulsive.Great.Tingly.Goosebumps.Whatever.

Okay, so I can't find a simpler way to describe what happened during our company's outing. We all had a blast and once more we have proven that we are the best account. MACROMEDIA rulezzz!!!
Just imagine, out of 30 so accounts in our company, we managed to bag the 'Best Band' award (prize is 10K, go Nene & the Virgins!)and it's one of our colleague who won the 'Star of the Night' title! The Macromedia account is only a small group if you compare it to some of the accounts..but that's basically the reason why we're all bonded as a team. I'm so proud to be a part of this group. Now I'm having second thoughts of leaving...haha! whatever!
I'll post a link to the whole album once it's done.

Divine Disillusionment
==========
'Never tell evil of a man, if you do not know it for certainty, and if you know it for a certainty, then ask yourself, 'Why should I tell it?'
-Johann K. Lavater
Don't underestimate the fact that you've known a person for quite some time. It might surprise you that somewhere beneath their perfect facade is a character that reeks of havoc and a couple of ill-willed arrows directly pointed at you.
It's true what they say. Keep your friends close. Your enemies closer.
You disgust me.You smile and laugh with everyone but deep inside; all you have there is a heart full of spite.
I wonder what the world did to you that makes you so embittered that you want misery mirrored in every face that you see.
Tsk.Tsk.
I pity your soul. I bet they're already starting to rot as we speak.
==========
I'm physically and emotionally unwell right now. Sighs. Too much thinking, I guess.
==========
Company Outing.Don't want to go.Can't explain.Too profound.Sings a familiar tune on disillusionment.Towards everyone at work.Tired of all the people.Tired of endless insincere dealings.Death to superficial clowns.Disgusted.So tired.Want to lie down.Stare at the sky.Do nothing.Be nothing. For the time being.
'Once in a while you have to take a break and visit yourself'.

Bad ako...
Ewwww..I'm soooo busted! I am majorly crushing on my friend's boyfriend! Yay!
Wait, I'm getting too excited here! Lemme backtrack to what happened to me last weekend:
We went to our usual hang out after our shift last Saturday morning..to good 'ol Whistlestop near Shangri-la. We ate and after a round of beer decided to call it a day. Our group had separate gimmicks for that night; there's a boy's nite out and a girl's nite out. We all decided to meet up at the Fete thing in Eastwood but that didn't happen coz it rained and I was only able to join the group at around 11pm. (coz i woke up late)
So anyway, I didn't stay that long because I'll be treating my family out for the Father's Day thingie the next day. After that I went straight to my family's trusted hairdresser to have my hair treated. (huwaw! ganda ko na!)
I hardly had my butt on the couch when I had to rush and meet my college buds at Oyster Boy in Greenhills. I had a really great time coz it has always been like that everytime we meet up. We were seated outside and I must say, para kameng mga sira ulo dun. We all shared old and new stories and we'd always end up laughing. It was always a riot everytime we're together.
It was AJ who treated us out since it was her birthday. And it was only that Sunday night that we met her new boyfriend - Nes. They've been together for hardly a month but I can really see that our friend is happy.
What I found strange is that I couldn't stop looking at the new bf *giggles. I even told the guys that he looks like Ali Sotto's deceased son, Miko. He's really a cutie..*sighs
He was always teasing me about our other friend and if not for AJ, I would've melted right there and then. Giggles
When I got home I texted AJ and thanked her for the treat:
Me: I had fun and it was nice seeing you guys again. Pasado sakin yang si Nes-->I'm so happy for you =D
AJ: Bolera ka pala..=) nice meeting you! Kausap ko yung friend mo..yihee! C u soon...Nes
Gosh, Nes and I are going to see each other again??! Hah! I wish! I bet we'll see each other but he'll be with my friend. Haaaay..
Stop it! I should get a hold of myself. But I dunno how..I believe it was the first time I felt this shit and it has to be on one of my friend's guy! ROAR. You guys should've seen me last Sunday. Tsk..Tsk..
Until now, I couldn't stop grinning and giggling everytime I think of him. Roar.
*deep sigh
Crush ko sha talaga! Waaaah!!!

A Tribute to my support group then...and now
'Look at everything as though you were seeing it either for the first time or the last time. Then your time on earth will be filled with glory.'
Betty Smith, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn
+ + +
I read Ice Goddess' latest post and I really did feel for her because I was in the same situation before (my love story nga lang was doomed from the start).
I remembered a time when all I had beside me was my boyfriend. I stopped answering calls or texts from close friends and I closed myself to my family...because all that I was seeing was my then boyfriend. Well..you can say that my world solely revolved around him. Hmmm.
I know now that it wasn't healthy. I was thrown into the abyss when we finally broke off. I found myself alone. Absolutely alone with no one to talk to. I started to miss my friends and even my family. I know they're still there but I feared that I've reached a really far place that it'll be too hard to get back into their good graces.
I got over it. I finally took the courage to reach out and called them one by one. I was grateful that each of 'em offered me their shoulders and helped me get on my feet and breathe a whole new life.
So here's a tribute to the people who made me what I am now just by being there for me:
Nemo: We resigned fromEtel at the same month. We both didn't have jobs with our hearts torn into pieces. We were both yearning for new lives and in the process, found each other. We now work for the same company/account. We now go out with the same group of friends. I owe you a lot. Thanks for just being there. I value the silent talks that we have. I love it that we can talk or comfort each other without even uttering a single word. We've gone through a lot and I'm glad we're still intact. Changes may come. It might even lead us to be apart from each other but rest assured that I will always be here. You know I'm not the vocal type but my prayers and thoughts always includes you and your daughter. Love you, bes.
Piper: Now I now the term 'misery loves company' does ring true. We would often laugh when we reminisce about that tragic phase we went through. How we would call each other and one would cry first and belt out angst and frustrations while the other one just listens. And after that, after the other's pacified, it's the other one's turn to wail and cry. It was funny when I think about it now but we were hopeless fools before. I remember a time when I would stay at your place and after downing a few shots of vodka (or was it tequila?)we would get into your car and drive by your ex-husband's work place or my ex-boyfriend's place just to check what they're doing. We both know now how pathetic we must have looked doing those crazy shit. But we were our own support group and for that I am utterly grateful.
Cage: Your apathetic approach to hearing out my wailings helped me also. Support groups should include someone who cries with you and someone who nonchalantly listens and even gives you a slap or two everytime you start making a fool of yourself. That was your role until now and I thank you for that.
Family: There are two good things that happened when I was broken-hearted; I was able to rekindle my connection with my friends and that I finally broke the huge wall separating me from my family. I thank you guys for not questioning me about the whole incident. I appreciate it that you guys kept mum whenever my crying would get louder even if you're all afraid the neighbors would start thinking there's someone being molested inside our home. Thanks for understanding why I needed to go out and even sleep at my friend's place during these times. It was because I didn't want you guys to hear my howling. I want you guys to see me as someone who is strong and can get over anything that comes my way. I guess all of you know by now that I'm really not that strong.
To the BIG GUY up there: Thanks for letting me meet these people. You know exactly what I needed and have given it to me. I thank You for that. I will try not to question your motives in the future.
*smiles

Bloggers Unite!
Seeing Dazed Angel's answer to my comment the other day, I realized something..
We create our own blog site so we can have a venue for that little voice inside of us that we can't just loudly pronounce to the whole world. Not only do we get to release all those angst with the whole blog world as our witness, but these people become our own support group. We get to read comments from folks we know and people we only get to know through blogging.
It feels good that we can belt out certain frustrations in life and not get judged for it.
I love you guys!

Flakers
Oooohh, how I hate 'em!
Flaker = an invidividual who either means it or not; leaves another individual hanging in mid-air.
Examples:
-->A person who suggests a night-out but calls or texts that she/he won't be able to make it.(especially someone who texts just as everyone's already at the meeting place except for her!)
-->A person who makes several plans with you (the really serious ones)..but balks at the last minute and expects you to understand.
I know..I know..I'm guilty of this deed also but at least I try to NOT make any promises at all.
'Nuff said
=========================================
I have finally conquered my fear of the unknown..I went to the interview and although I enjoyed the feeling of becoming an applicant again (exam and interview part), I don't think I'll accept the offer...
Why?
Because the location of the office they'll be moving is friggin' far!! That's why! I can't imagine myself commuting from my place aaaaaaaaaaall the way to Alabang! Dang! Maybe if their transportation allowance is a huge sum aside from my basic than I'll reconsider. O well, back to the 'drawing board' for me.

The Cowardly Kitten
I'm so confused right now I don't even know if my post today will make any sense.
I just found out a lotta stuff about myself but I don't know how to handle all of 'em.
I'm scheduled for an interview later after my shift: for a different company and for a higher position. A part of me wants to go but the other part wants me to just go home and forget about it. I have been having this strong feeling that it's time to move out of my comfort zone w/c is my current job and try other opportunities.
It's not that I'm scared to fail but more like I'm terrified of succeeding. Yikes!
It's like I'm battling a demon which is also myself. I dunno who's gonna win. I wanna knock some sense into my head but I think it'll only make things worse and I'll end up seeing a shrink or sumthin'.
I had a little chat with Toie and it made me realize that I just hafta work harder in weighing the pro's and con's of leaving this security region. I've made friends, have a lot more freedom unlike some other people on the same field. I know I will be giving up a lot if I move but I dunno...I really don't.
'Don't be afraid to take a big step if one is indicated. You can't cross a chasm in two small jumps.'
David Lloyd George
'Decide what you want, decide what you are willing to exchange for it. Establish your priorities and go to work.'
H.L. Hunt
Haaaayy...someone told me that if my workplace is slowly becoming my comfort zone, it's time to get out and move on..otherwise I'll be stuck here with no room for growth.

It's like I'm eager to start a new life outside of my current office but I don't know where to start or if I'm really decided about the whole idea. Dang!

Me -->A Retard
In my previous post I was contemplating about my singlehood..today it looks like I was flooded with testosterone. Suddenly everyone's trying to set up a date with me. Life is friggin' ironic doncha think?
*raises eyebrow
There's this old flame that I dated last year. We work at the same company; we dated for a couple of months but it didn't work for some unclear reasons. We're now talking again and I consider him as my flirt buddy. Haha!
Now here's where the real problem lies - an ex boyfriend back in college and one of his barkada. I broke up with my ex bf when I was in first year college while the other one tried to court me when I was in third year. They're still in contact, mind you. We all saw each other's profile in Friendster so we exchanged contact numbers.
My ex was inviting me out for coffee to catch up on things while the other one wants to go on a movie date.
Rupert (my ex's friend)texted: So, when can we go out and watch a movie?
me: Ahm...why don't we all meet up: You, Benedict and me..perhaps we can all have coffee or something.
Rupert: Why, did he ask you out also?
*me slaps forehead
I read his text twice and realized what a retard I was for even suggesting it! Waaah! Shoot me, please!
Now I don't know what to do...Rupert just said something about texting my ex but it'll be hard because all three of us have really crazy schedules..
Pedeng wag na lang lumabas? (Can we just not go out?!)
WAAAAAH!!!!

Reality Bites
There are some questions in life that are best ignored or not answered..
Someone asked me a question that really stomped me. It would've been better if they asked me if the sun is really the center of the solar system or something..
I feel bad 'coz the question really made me sigh and think.
'Why am I still single?'
I have no idea, really. There are times when I don't really get to notice or even care if I'm not locking hands or lips with someone special. I keep busy with work, friends and family but I've to admit, there are absolute occasions and instances that I kinda miss feeling special and giddy with happiness because I'm in love with someone.
There was a time when I didn't care if I was single. At least I can do whatever I want. I can go out and not care if I don't text them or tell 'em where I'm at. I can flirt with whomever I want to without feeling guilty because I'm going steady with someone. I get to spend quality time with my friends and family.
But there are moments that I get to reflect and realize that it has indeed been a long time since I've had someone special. Flings are not counted. I sometimes ask myself this question.. look at myself in the mirror and assess if I'm getting ugly or if I have developed some hateful trait that will make guys head for the mountains everytime they see me.
At the back of my head I know there's nothing wrong with me. I guess it was sort of a disadvantage that some think I'm a snob especially during first meetings. I can't change that so I'll leave it at that. I think one other reason why guys think twice before approaching me is because I'm not 'easy'. I mean, I am independent. I think I give off this signal that I can stand on my own without a man. I can take care of myself and I'm really not comfortable playing 'damsel-in-distress' waiting for a prince to come. I'm just not like that.
And one other fact is that I'm not settling for someone who's 'okay' and who happens to be available and likeable because I know I deserve the best...and my 'best' has yet to come.
Maybe he's just busy! Haha!

"Angry" and "hungry" are two words that end in "gry".
There are three words in the English language. What is the
third word? Everyone knows what it means and everyone uses it
every day. Look closely and I have already given you the
third word. What is it?
Answer: "language".
This puzzle has circulated widely on the Internet for some
years, but usually in an abbreviated form such as "Name three
common English words ending in 'gry'", which has no good third
answer.

'CHEEKBONES'
The restroom in our office smells of new paint..it smells good...(addik!)

A RIDDLE THAT'LL KILL YOUR BRAIN! This is going to make you so MAD!
There are three words in the English language that end in "gry". ONE is
angry and the other is hungry. EveryONE knows what the third ONE means
and what it stands for. EveryONE uses them everyday, and if you listened
very carefully, I've given you the third word.
What is it?
_______gry?

'You have nice cheekbones...'
me said 'Thanks' (what a lame pickup line!)
I spent the weekend at my friend's place in Subic. Kaje and I went there to sleep, unwind and drink booze with Piper and her ultra cool mom.
We went to this newly opened bar and met up with Piper's friends. This Jon guy seated on my left suddenly turned to me and delivered the L-A-M-E pickup line I mentioned. He didn't stop there, ladies and gentlemen..he even proposed a toast for my cheekbones! WTF!
I didn't know if I should be flattered or to ask him if he's gay and if he has any brand of blush on he could recommend. Haha!
'Where did you get your cheekbones?'
me said 'Uhm..my mom?' (I wanted to say I got it from my dad but that would mean I look funny to have my dad's cheekbones. Arrgggh!)
If I listened closely and counted each time he shoots a compliment about my cheekbones, I would've asked for a makeover! Sheesh! What a waste of pickup line..to think that he was kinda cute.

Expecto Patronum!
I am STOKED!! I was among the first peeps to watch 'Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban'. Me and some of my officemates trooped to Robinson's Galleria and were among the first eager HP fans to fall in line to catch the initial screening of the movie. Woohoo!
I realized how much I missed Harry Potter and the gang. It was like going back to being a child and it feels so damn good!
I love the KnightBus but I don't think it'll be a good idea to have a triple decker bus prowling our streets at night..especially if it's being driven by Ernie Prang.
This is the best pic I was able to find of Buckbeak..Hagrid's hippogriff
Hermione, Harry and Ron on their way out of Hagrid's place
Finally meeting Sirius Black
Harry and Hermione in the Dark Forest
I really like this pic of the Dark Forest..(wala lang!)
And I really loveeeee the Whomping Willow..
There were several sequences that were not placed in the movie..w/c is good when you think about it, otherwise it'll be a movie running for another hour or so. I don't think my butt can sit that long...

You Know You're Obsessed with Harry Potter When -
:from Accio Firebolt
- you cant EVER put the book down.
- you see an "out of order" sign on the door of a school bathroom and think that Moaning Myrtle must be in there.
- you say 'Alohomora' each time you unlock a door.
- you're afraid to open your desks and dressers because boggarts might come out of there.
- you use wizarding vocabulary in every day language.
- you refer to people as Muggles.
- you hold out your wand arm in hopes of the Knight Bus coming.
- you start muttering Expecto Patronum everytime that you feel really really unhappy, worried that a dementor might be close by.
- you call anyone who you hate a stupid muggle.

I just turned 1!
I can't believe it's been a year since I stumbled upon this wonderful world of blogging.
I just turned 1!
It has been a year full of rants, raves and a whole lotta stuff.
I have a lot to be thankful for...
I and some 2 million individuals have the people who started this weblogging frenzy to be thankful for..
it's now a venue for many 'what-have-you's' ranging from current events, personal angst, news, etc.
I became curious and started searching the Internet on the History of Weblogs and here are some articles I was able to dig up:
"Weblogs are often-updated sites that point to articles elsewhere on the web, often with comments, and to on-site articles. A weblog is kind of a continual tour, with a human guide who you get to know. There are many guides to choose from, each develops an audience, and there's also comraderie and politics between the people who run weblogs, they point to each other, in all kinds of structures, graphs, loops, etc".
"Today, there are hundreds of thousands of weblog sites, and the market for tools for managing such sites is growing quickly. My company, UserLand, makes two products for weblogs, Manila, which is a centralized server-based content management system; and Radio UserLand which provides easy and powerful weblogging from the desktop".
-BlogOnBlog
"This rapid growth continued steadily until July 1999 when Pitas, the first free build-your-own-weblog tool launched, and suddenly there were hundreds. In August, Pyra released Blogger, and Groksoup launched, and with the ease that these web-based tools provided, the bandwagon-jumping turned into an explosion. Late in 1999 software developer Dave Winer introduced Edit This Page, and Jeff A. Campbell launched Velocinews. All of these services are free, and all of them are designed to enable individuals to publish their own weblogs quickly and easily".
"The original weblogs were link-driven sites. Each was a mixture in unique proportions of links, commentary, and personal thoughts and essays. Weblogs could only be created by people who already knew how to make a website. A weblog editor had either taught herself to code HTML for fun, or, after working all day creating commercial websites, spent several off-work hours every day surfing the web and posting to her site. These were web enthusiasts".
"Many current weblogs follow this original style. Their editors present links both to little-known corners of the web and to current news articles they feel are worthy of note. Such links are nearly always accompanied by the editor's commentary".
-excerpt from Rebecca's Pocket: 'Weblogs: a history and perspective'
"I've taken a few stabs at it already, and learned a lot along the way. Lesson One: Blogs can do a tremendous job breaking news, and journalists are wise to start their own to tap that power. Lesson Two: Some rare bloggers become amateur journalists, a status which brings with it its own unique ethical challenges. Lesson Three: Most bloggers are more like Columnists than capital-J Journalists".
blogger : journalist :: tick : sheep
bloggers : journalists :: dung beetles : elephants
"But surely bloggers are more than just ticks and dung beetles feeding off of their journalist hosts! True, the majority of links in weblogs are to articles written by journalists... but I've seen too many articles by journalists pulled straight from weblogs, Blogdex, and Metafilter to buy fully into the Bloggers/Parasite metaphor".
-excerpts from Blogosphere: the emerging Media Ecosystem by John Hiler
These and a lot more articles on how weblogs evolved makes me smile and marvel how this one phenomenon united people from around the world no matter what age and location.
I think there's just this neverending need for all of us to express ourselves in form of writing and I guess taht simply explains why weblogs were created.
Hooray for Blogging!!!
